About

TCCRI’s Texas Education Choice Project (TxEdChoiceProject) was founded to promote educational choices for students in Texas, explore innovations in learning, and to help ensure that students, not schools or institutions, are the focus of the state’s approach to K-12 education.

The Texas legislature has long prioritized public education. From consistent increases to education funding in the state’s budget, to enacting much needed reforms to the state’s school finance formulas, lawmakers have shown an unwavering commitment to ensuring that public education in Texas is more than adequately funded and has all of the tools necessary to properly educate Texas students.

About

Supporting public education is necessary, but not sufficient, when it comes to providing opportunities for young Texans, and one size does not fit all. If the local public school to which a student is assigned is not the best fit for the student’s needs, that student should be empowered to seek out and enroll in a school more tailored to those needs.

The TxEdChoice Project will bring together elected officials, policy experts, and other stakeholders – including parents and families – to advance policies that improve educational opportunities for all Texas students.
